Hamilton & McGregor brought together a small group of specialists to assist with
the noise mapping project.
Hamilton & McGregor are acoustic consultants based in Glasgow who are heavily involved
in transposition, environmental and building acoustics. Through our creation of
three dimensional models for use with noise prediction software, we have developed
many GIS based solutions for data handling.

The road traffic data was supplied by MVA on behalf of Transport Scotland. MVA developed
and maintain the Transport Model for Scotland (TMfS) for the Scottish Government.
This multi-modal transport demand and land-use modelling tool covers 95% of Scotland’s
population (http://www.tmfs.org.uk/).

Accon GmbH, a Munich based company, is the consulting arm of the company that produced
the software used in this project. Accon GmbH provided a bulk processing facility
that was, at the start of the project not available within Hamilton & McGregor.
Accon GmbH also provided an external quality check on the model creation.

Gemsoft7 has developed a leading edge, web-based authorisation engine which provides
change/issue management and work order tracking. This has been used as
part of the data validation process and is also being used in the handling of web
based feedback and consultation responses.

Quanta Development is a specialist in web-centric
development using leading edge technology. Quanta joined the project to integrate
the map data into one easy to use interface and manage it's publication on the internet.

In addition to the data received from the Scottish Government data for the mapping
process was also supplied by Network Rail, Delta Rail, BAA and Prestwick Airport.
